Hi! I’m Rachael Gran- an Art Educator, Scenic Artist, Set Designer, Painter, and Jeweler. I am a member of the class of 2021 and 2023 at the University of the Arts with a BFA in Theater Design and Technology and a MAT in Visual Arts Education.
Paint as a substance is something that is at the core of my being. My artistry began with paint, I continue to paint now, and even when I’m not painting, all of the things that I do are influenced by my painterly mindset and respect and love for the medium. It flows and changes and manipulates itself while also being able to be manipulated by others. It has this emotional tangibility that is powerful, staining, and strong, yet fluid, workable, and tender. Paint is my personal microcosm of humanity and is central to everything that I create and am.
